November 6, Day before surgery - I've got this. :) I have so many things to celebrate. Today I'm going to:
- Spend time with Monty, my little man. Our 3-year anniversary is tomorrow, actually!
- Have a little Transition Ceremony for my right boob.
- Go for a long swim, which makes me feel strong.
- Channel all the positive energy I can to myself, my cells, and my health care team (especially the surgeon).
- Optional given circumstances but I'm going to do it anyway: Finishing up a song for songwriting class tonight and giving a talk at an internal conference at work on inclusive language.
- Give thanks that I have people to turn to in moments I've felt anxious, to feel cheer, and to ask for help.
My friend Laurie will update the site sometime after my surgery tomorrow. Let's do this. 💪
***UPDATE! November 7:
ReplyDelete- Our on-the-ground reporter, Donna, confirms that Sara had a successful surgery and the doctor stated everything went as planned
- From news anchor Laurie: I was able to talk to Sara tonight on her way home from surgery. Everything was a success! She's still a little groggy, but thankful for neighbors for helping get her home, and her Mom and Donna for being there at the hospital for her through the surgery
- She admits that she REALLY wants a Whopper, but that is not allowed on the post surgical diet plan as of yet
- Sara also confirmed that the doctors at Masonic are still just as handsome as ever
